Active Travel Group

Active travel is walking, wheeling or cycling for a purposeful journey. Wheeling includes using a wheelchair or mobility aid as an aid to walking.

For an overview of Scotland’s Strategy for Active travel, see Transport Scotland link.

We are a group of local residents who started out with the focus on linking the multiuse path from Keir and Penpont into the Thornhill. This soon grew into an ambition to identify and try to address the issues for people moving about the village under their own steam.

Under OST, we completed a community report in 2023 and continue to work on the recommendations of this piece of work.

The full report is here: https://www.oldschoolthornhill.com/travel

Our meetings take place about every 6 weeks.

Meetings are not open the public however new members are always welcome.
